The Marley Cordless Rechargeable Picture Light solves the problem that stops most people lighting their artwork properly: there is no power point behind a painting, and nobody wants to chase a cable into the wall or run a visible cord down the plaster. Marley runs on a built-in 4400mAh rechargeable battery, so it mounts anywhere — straight onto plaster, shiplap, timber battens, a rendered wall or even a gallery panel — with nothing but two screws and no electrician involved. Charge it with the included USB-C cable and it runs for 12 to 20 hours depending on brightness, so on typical evening use it goes weeks between charges. The head rotates, which matters more than it sounds. A picture light angled wrongly either bounces glare straight back off glazed artwork or leaves the bottom third of a canvas in shadow; being able to tilt the bar means you can wash the whole piece evenly and kill the reflection. It also runs three colour temperatures — warm, natural and cool — so you can match the light to the work rather than forcing every piece under the same yellow glow. Warm suits oils, timber frames and ochre-toned landscapes; natural is the honest choice for photography; cool lifts blues, whites and monochrome work. Control it by touch or with the included remote. Choose 30cm (11.8in) for a standard framed print or 40cm (15.8in) for larger canvases and wide landscape pieces, in Gold, Black or White to suit the frame. Care Instructions
Wipe the aluminium bar and mount with a soft, dry cloth, or a barely damp one for marks, then dry it immediately — do not use solvents, methylated spirits or abrasive cleaners, which will dull the painted Gold, Black and White finishes. Keep liquids well away from the USB-C charging port and never clean the fitting while it is on charge. To look after the lithium battery, top it up before it runs completely flat rather than draining it every time, avoid leaving it on charge continuously for days, and if you store the light unused, recharge it at least once every three months so the cell does not deteriorate. Charge only with the supplied USB-C cable and a standard 5V adaptor. When adjusting the rotating head, turn it slowly and stop at the end of its travel rather than forcing it past, as over-rotating strains the pivot. Take the light down before cleaning artwork or glass behind it so cleaning spray never lands on the LED strip. This is an indoor fitting — keep it out of bathrooms and away from steam. Do not open the housing or attempt to replace the battery yourself.
