The Mali Alabaster LED Wall Sconce is a tall, narrow bar of light — 10cm wide and 50cm high (3.9 x 19.7in) — designed to hold a vertical line on a wall without taking up any real space. The face is a softly veined artificial alabaster panel, which is the reason it looks expensive: rather than firing light out of a clear lens, it lets the glow bleed through the stone-look surface so you get an even, warm column instead of a hot spot. In practice that means you can sit under it, read under it, or walk past it at night without being dazzled, and it will not throw the hard shadows that a downlight does. The body is a glossy iron shell in one of five finishes — Gold, Black, White, Grey or Green — so it can either disappear into the wall or deliberately stand against it. White on shiplap reads almost invisible; black on pale limewash gives you a crisp graphic line; gold in a darker bedroom picks up the warmth of brass hardware; green is the one to pick when you want the fitting to be the accent. The LED is integrated at 3000K warm white, so there is no bulb to source, nothing to replace and no risk of someone fitting a cold 6000K globe and ruining the effect. It is hardwired and IP20 rated for indoor use, works with a standard push wall switch, and is at its best mounted in a symmetrical pair — either side of a bed, a mirror or a doorway — or repeated in a row down a hallway where the vertical rhythm does the work.

Care Instructions
Switch the sconce off at the wall and let it cool before cleaning — the alabaster face holds heat longer than metal does. Dust the panel and the iron body with a dry, soft cloth; for fingerprints on the gloss finish, use a barely damp cloth and buff dry straight away so no water sits along the join between the shade and the body. Never use methylated spirits, glass cleaner, bleach, solvents or abrasive pads: they will strip the gloss paint from the iron and dull the alabaster face, and neither can be restored. Keep the fitting indoors and away from bathrooms with open showers, laundries and anywhere subject to steam, as it is IP20 rated and moisture will work into the housing and mark the shade. On the Gold finish in particular, avoid any polish or metal cleaner — it is a painted finish, not solid brass, and a metal polish will cut straight through it. The LED is integrated and sealed, so there is no bulb to change; if it fails, the fitting is replaced rather than re-lamped, and all wiring work should be done by a licensed electrician. Check the wall fixings once a year.
