The Bodhi Wooden Wall Hooks turn an empty stretch of wall beside the front door into somewhere coats, bags and keys actually live. A single length of solid black walnut, finished in vegetable wax oil so the grain stays open and matte rather than plastic-looking, carries a row of thick L-shaped space aluminium hooks set 8.5cm (3.3in) apart. The hooks angle upward and curve forward, which is what stops a coat collar or a tote strap sliding off the way it does on a plain peg. Choose black hooks for a darker, more graphic look against the timber, or white hooks for something softer and more coastal. Four lengths cover most walls: 25cm with 3 hooks for a narrow entry or a bathroom, 35cm with 4, 45cm with 5, and 55cm with 6 hooks (9.8 to 21.7in) when you need room for the whole household. A triple-layer moisture-resistant treatment helps the timber resist humidity and warping, so it holds up in a bathroom or a laundry as well as a hallway, and every corner and edge is rounded and polished smooth so nothing snags on knitwear. Care Instructions
Dust the walnut rail with a soft, dry cloth, and for marks wipe it with a barely damp cloth and dry it immediately - this is solid timber with a wax oil finish, so standing water will raise the grain, lift the wax and eventually cause the rail to warp or split. Never use solvents, methylated spirits, bleach, ammonia or abrasive pads on either the timber or the painted hooks; they strip the wax oil from the walnut and dull the electrostatic paint on the aluminium. Every few months, refresh the rail with a small amount of clear furniture wax or a hardwax oil worked along the grain and buffed off, which keeps the timber nourished and the colour rich. Wipe the aluminium hooks with a damp cloth only and dry them straight away so no water sits in the joint where the hook meets the timber. Although the rail is moisture-treated, hang wet coats and towels loosely and let the wall dry between uses rather than leaving damp fabric pressed against the timber, and avoid mounting it in direct shower spray. Check the wall fixings every few months and re-tighten if they have worked loose, and spread heavy coats and bags across several hooks rather than loading them all onto one.
