The Zicatela Rattan Outdoor Pendant takes its shape from a double gourd - a smaller bulb above, a pinched waist, then a fuller bulb below - and that silhouette is what makes it read as a considered piece rather than a generic outdoor shade. The rattan is woven in fine vertical ribs by hand, so it glows in soft bands after dark, and because the weave is hand-done no two shades carry an identical pattern. It is built for covered outdoor use: the rattan is glue-treated against corrosion, the fittings are stainless steel, and the whole fixture is sealed to IP65, so it handles humidity, sea air and blown spray under a patio roof, pergola or verandah. One product covers two installations - order it as a pendant with up to 120 cm of adjustable drop, or as a bracket-mounted wall light - and three sizes from 20 to 30 cm wide let you scale it to the space, single over a side table or repeated in a row above a long alfresco bench. A 12W E27 LED at 840 lumens is included, in warm white 3000K.

Care Instructions
Switch the power off at the wall and let the fitting cool before cleaning. Rattan is a natural fibre, so the golden rule is to keep it dry: dust it with a soft dry brush or a vacuum brush attachment, working down the vertical ribs where dust and cobwebs collect, and never soak it, hose it or scrub it with a wet cloth - water absorbed into the fibres is what causes rattan to swell, soften and eventually unravel. For a mark that will not brush off, use a barely damp cloth and dry the area straight away. This shade is glue-treated and IP65 rated for covered outdoor positions, but it is not designed to sit in direct rain or full sun; keep it under a patio roof, pergola or verandah, because prolonged direct sun will bleach the weave and driving rain will shorten its life. In coastal areas dust it more often, as salt settles in the weave. Check the suspension, ceiling canopy and stainless fittings seasonally, and clean the LED cover inside the shade with a dry cloth when the light dims.
