The Tunco Outdoor Pendant Light gets the look of natural wicker without the problem that comes with it: the shade is woven from PE rather than cane, so it will not swell, soften or unravel in humidity the way real rattan does outdoors, and it holds its tone instead of bleaching pale. The form is a wide, shallow dome - broader than it is tall - and it is open underneath, so the light drops straight down onto the table while the open crosswoven shade glows a warm honey colour and throws a soft woven pattern onto the ceiling above. That combination is what makes it useful over a bench or dining table rather than just decorative: you get usable task light below and a glowing object above. The shallow proportion is worth noting when choosing a size, because at 30.5 cm and 40.6 cm across these read as horizontal fittings suited to a long bench rather than a narrow drop. Care Instructions
Switch the power off at the wall and let the bulb cool before cleaning. Because this shade is woven PE rather than natural cane, it is far more forgiving than real rattan - it can be wiped with a damp cloth without swelling, and a little warm water with mild dish soap will lift grime from the weave. Rinse the soap off and let it dry fully. Do not use solvents, methylated spirits or bleach, which make PE brittle and chalky over time, and avoid stiff brushes or scouring pads that can fray the strands. The weave is where the work is: dust, pollen, cobwebs and insects collect between the strands and mute the honey glow, so run a soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment over it every couple of months. Because the base is open, insects and dust also gather on the diffuser inside, so wipe that at the same time - it is the main reason these fittings dim over time. Although PE resists fading better than cane, prolonged direct sun will still dull the tone, so keep it under cover. Check the chain and canopy each season.
