The Tomi Linear Wall Sconce is a slim metal baton that pivots on a single round canopy at its centre, and that pivot is what makes it more than a straight bar of light: angle it down and it becomes a picture light washing artwork evenly from edge to edge, level it out and it lights a mirror, or tilt it up and it grazes a textured wall. One fitting, three different jobs, decided after it is installed rather than before. The bar is only 5 cm across, so it reads as a fine line on the wall rather than a bulky fixture. Three lengths - 68, 98 and 128 cm - let you match the run to whatever it sits above, which matters for artwork in particular, where a light noticeably shorter than the frame leaves the outer edges dim. The integrated LED is rated to 50,000 hours, comes in warm white 3000K or cool white 6000K, and works with a dimmer switch. Black or gold finishes.

Care Instructions
Switch the power off and let the fitting cool before cleaning. The acrylic diffuser is the part that decides how this light looks in ten years, so treat it carefully: clean it with a soft cloth and warm water with a drop of mild dish soap only, and never use methylated spirits, acetone, ammonia, glass cleaner, paper towel or scouring pads, all of which permanently craze, cloud or scratch acrylic. Wipe the metal body with a barely damp cloth and dry it; on the gold finish use a soft dry cloth only, as gold coatings are thin and polish buffs them away. The pivot is a moving part and the one thing to be gentle with - adjust the angle by holding the body of the bar near the centre canopy rather than pulling on the ends, and move it slowly, since repeated forcing loosens the joint and the bar will start to drift out of level. If you use it as a picture light, check the angle after cleaning. Dust it monthly, because dust on a long horizontal bar shows as a grey line from below.
