The Sade Outdoor Wall Lantern is a classic carriage-style fitting built for real weather, and the thing that carries it is the material: a solid brass frame rather than a coated steel one, so it holds up in exposed and coastal positions where painted finishes blister and lift. The clear glass shade is the other half of the design - it hides nothing, so the bulb you choose becomes part of the look, and a warm Edison filament reads very differently here to a crisp LED. At 15 cm across and 36 cm tall it is a proper lantern rather than a token one, sized to hold its own beside a front door or a garage without crowding the wall. It comes in bronze or black, hardwires to a standard wall switch, and takes any E26 or E27 bulb up to 60W, so brightness and colour are entirely yours to set. Care Instructions
Switch the power off at the wall and let the bulb cool before cleaning. Brass is a living finish and this lantern is solid brass, not plated, so it will gradually darken to a warm patina outdoors - that is normal and many people prefer it. If you would rather keep it bright, wipe it every month or two with a soft cloth and a little brass polish, then buff dry; if you like the aged look, simply leave it and wipe with a dry cloth. Either way, never use steel wool, scouring pads or bleach-based cleaners, which scratch brass and strip its lacquer. In coastal areas rinse the frame with fresh water every few weeks, because airborne salt is what accelerates pitting. Clean the clear glass shade regularly with a soft damp cloth and dry it fully - because the glass is transparent, dust, spider webs and insect marks show far more than they would on a frosted shade. Check the wall fixings and the seal around the glass each season, and only fit bulbs up to 60W.
