The Rossi Outdoor Pendant is a softly rounded barrel in opal PE, and the material choice is the reason it works outdoors. PE spreads the light rather than transmitting it, so the whole shade glows evenly instead of throwing a hard bright spot, which is what makes a low 4W fitting feel warm rather than dim. That low draw is deliberate: at 85 lumens per watt and 120 lumens output, this is an ambient light for atmosphere and wayfinding, not a floodlight, and it covers roughly 8 to 16 square metres. The shape is borrowed from a traditional Japanese lantern - full through the middle, gently tapered top and bottom - so it reads calm rather than decorative, and it hangs as a clean glowing form with no visible hardware. The cord adjusts to 150 cm, which is what lets it drop properly over a table or hang high under a pitched patio roof. The aluminium body will not rust and the whole unit is sealed to IP65. Two sizes, 17 cm and 21 cm across, so it can hang alone or repeat down a run.

Care Instructions
Switch the power off at the wall and let the fitting cool before cleaning. The PE shade is the part that needs the most thought: polyethylene scratches easily and hazes if you use the wrong product, so clean it with a soft cloth and warm water with a drop of mild dish soap only. Never use solvents, methylated spirits, acetone, glass cleaner or any cleaner containing ammonia - these craze and cloud PE permanently, and a clouded diffuser dulls the light output. Do not use scouring pads or paper towel, which scuff the surface. Because PE is white and translucent, dust and pollen show as a grey film, so wipe it every couple of months; if it has yellowed from long direct sun, moving the fitting under cover will slow it. Wipe the aluminium body with a damp cloth and dry it, and in coastal areas rinse it with fresh water regularly to keep salt off. Check the cord, canopy and fixings each season.
