The Riley Rattan Solar Lantern brings a relaxed, holiday feel to the garden after dark. An open-weave rattan shade in a soft bell shape is topped with a black solar cap and hangs from a black chain and hook, so it can go wherever the sun reaches: a gum tree branch, an open pergola beam, a garden arch or a shepherd's hook in a garden bed. During the day the solar panel charges the lantern, and at night a warm white 3000K LED glows through the weave and throws patterned shadows across paths, decks and lawns. The lantern measures 22cm (8.7in) across and 18cm (7.1in) tall, and the hanging length adjusts up to 57cm (22.5in) so you can set several at staggered heights. It is rated IP44 against splashing water for outdoor use, lights an area of roughly 5-10m² (54-108 sq ft), and needs no wiring or power bill. Because it runs on solar, hang it in open sun rather than under a solid roof or deep shade. Buy it as a single lantern or in 2, 4, 6 or 8-packs to string through trees for a party or line an outdoor dining area. Its natural, rustic-modern look suits coastal, boho and hinterland gardens and Australian backyard entertaining.

Care Instructions
Hang the lantern where the solar cap gets several hours of direct sun each day, and wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth every few weeks so dust, pollen and bird droppings do not cut the charge. Dust the rattan weave with a dry, soft brush; never soak it or hose it hard, as rattan absorbs water, swells and can split or grow mould when it stays wet. If it gets drenched in a storm, let it dry fully in the sun and fresh air. Avoid bleach, solvents and household sprays on both the rattan and the solar panel. Check the chain and hook every few months and replace or tighten anything that has loosened, especially where trees move in the wind. During long wet spells or winter months, bring the lantern under cover to extend the life of the weave.
