The Pitch Solar Step Lights solve the awkward problem of lighting stairs and paths where there is nothing to drill into and nowhere to run a cable. Each unit is a compact 11 x 8 x 5.5 cm block in stainless steel and ABS that simply sits on the surface - on a stair tread, along the base of a wall, down the edge of a path or driveway - and throws a soft warm white LED glow across the ground in front of it. Because there is no mounting bracket, no wiring and no drilling, you can set them out along a timber deck stair, a run of concrete or sandstone steps or a paved side passage in minutes and reposition them at any time. A polysilicon solar panel charges the unit through the day, and each light covers a lighting area of roughly 10 to 15 square metres. Sealed to IP67, they handle heavy rain, sprinklers and dust without trouble. Choose a pack of 6, 10 or 14 depending on how many treads or how much path you need to cover.

Care Instructions
Wipe the stainless steel and ABS housing with a soft damp cloth and dry it off, paying attention to the base where grit collects underfoot. Because these lights sit on the ground rather than being mounted, they pick up more dirt than a fixed fitting - rinse mud, sand and leaf debris away regularly so the lens stays clear. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool and solvent cleaners, which scratch the ABS lens and mark the stainless finish. In coastal areas, rinse salt residue off the stainless steel with fresh water every few weeks to prevent tea staining. Keep the solar panel clean and unshaded, and lift the lights aside when sweeping, hosing or pressure washing steps rather than blasting them directly. Charge fully before storing and keep them dry and indoors over winter.
