The Mari Outdoor Solar Lantern is a small, carriage-style lantern with a modern solar heart. Each lantern is 8cm (3.1in) across and 14cm (5.5in) tall, made from weatherproof black ABS with a clear lens and a carry handle on top, and gives off a gentle 3000K warm white glow of around 10 lumens - more candle than floodlight, which is exactly the point on a balcony or garden table. A monocrystalline solar panel charges an AA battery during the day, and the built-in light sensor switches the lantern on at dusk for approximately 8 hours, with a push switch to turn it off when you want. Choose from three styles: portable lanterns to hang from a hook or set on a step, wall or table; ground insert lanterns on a 13cm (5.1in) post and 10cm (3.9in) spike to line a path; or strap-fixed lanterns that attach to deck railings, fences and balustrades. They come in sets of 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10. Rated IP44 against splashing water, they suit Australian balconies, verandahs, courtyards and garden beds, and look especially good clustered along steps or spaced down a timber deck rail.

Care Instructions
Wipe the black ABS body and clear lens with a soft, damp cloth and a drop of mild dishwashing liquid, then dry them off. Avoid solvents, methylated spirits, window cleaners and scouring pads, which can cloud the lens and dull the plastic. Keep the small solar panel on top free of dust, pollen and bird droppings, and hang or place the lanterns where they receive several hours of direct sun each day. As the lanterns are rated IP44, they handle rain and splashes but should not be submerged, pressure washed or left lying in puddles. On the strap-fixed style, check the straps every few months and retighten them so the lanterns cannot swing against the rail in wind. If the light time drops noticeably after a season or two, replace the AA battery with a new rechargeable AA battery. Before storing them, switch them off, charge them fully and keep them somewhere dry.
