The Maluk Solar Floating Pool Lights are flat discs rather than balls - 11 cm across and only 5 cm high (4.3 x 2 in) - so they sit level and low on the water instead of bobbing, and the light spreads out across the surface rather than up into your eyes. Unlike most solar floats, these come with a remote: nine colours, three fade modes and three brightness levels at 30, 60 and 100 per cent, so you can drop the whole pool to a dim single colour for a quiet dinner outside or run the full cycle at full output for a party, without fishing anything out of the water. A built-in timer switches them off automatically after four, six or eight hours, and a light sensor brings them on by themselves once it drops below 50 lux, so in practice you set them once and forget them for the season. The IP67 rating covers splashing and temporary submersion, and sets of one through six let you match the number to the pool.
Key Features
- Remote With 9 Colours and 3 Fade Modes: Change colour, mode and brightness from the deck without lifting a light out of the water.
- Three Brightness Levels: 30, 60 or 100 per cent output, so the same lights suit a quiet evening or a full party.
- Built-In 4, 6 or 8 Hour Timer: Set once and the lights switch themselves off, so they are not running all night on a half-charged cell.
- Automatic Dusk Activation: A light sensor turns them on below 50 lux, with no switch to flick.
- Low, Flat Float Profile: At 11 x 5 cm (4.3 x 2 in) the disc sits level on the water and washes light across the surface.

Care Instructions
Wipe the solar panel on the top face clean every couple of weeks with a soft damp cloth and dry it off - dust, sunscreen film and dried pool splash across the panel will cut the charge badly, and a light that runs for an hour instead of six is almost always a dirty panel rather than a failed battery. Rinse the disc in fresh water after it has been floating in chlorinated or salt water, since pool chemicals left to dry will chalk the ABS and cloud the diffuser. Use a soft cloth only; abrasive pads and solvent cleaners will haze the lens permanently. The IP67 rating covers temporary submersion, so a dunking is fine, but do not leave the lights sitting underwater or trapped against a skimmer inlet for long periods. Keep the remote indoors and dry - it is not waterproof. Before storing for the season, let the lights take a full day of sun, then keep them inside somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight so the cell holds its charge for next summer.
