The Kyla Alabaster Wall Sconce uses real stone, not a resin imitation, and that is the whole point of it - alabaster is naturally translucent, so the light passes through the mineral itself and the stone's own dark veining appears in the glow. Every piece is different, and no two sconces will light exactly the same way. The cylinder glows across its full surface rather than throwing a beam, so it reads as a warm object on the wall rather than a light source you look at. The fluted copper column beneath gives the soft stone something to sit against: the vertical ribs catch light in fine lines and add the visual weight the alabaster lacks. At 13 cm across and 38 cm tall it is a vertical totem, deliberately proportioned to draw the eye up and make a wall feel taller, which is why it suits master bedrooms, formal entries and stairwells. Bulb included, running on AC 90-260V.

Care Instructions
Switch the power off and let the fitting cool before cleaning. Alabaster is the material to be careful with: it is a soft, porous natural stone that is far more delicate than marble, and it will etch and dull on contact with anything acidic or wet. Dust it with a dry, soft cloth or a clean makeup brush only. Do not use water, damp cloths, vinegar, citrus, bathroom sprays or any general-purpose cleaner - alabaster absorbs liquid and stains permanently, and acids eat into the surface. If something is spilled on it, blot it dry immediately rather than wiping. Keep it away from steamy bathrooms and out of direct sun, as prolonged UV can alter the stone's colour. The copper column is the opposite problem: copper naturally darkens to a warm patina, which many people prefer, but if you want to keep it bright, buff it occasionally with a soft dry cloth and a copper polish made for lacquered metal, keeping the polish well away from the stone. Run a dry brush down the flutes to lift dust out of the grooves.
