The Funnel Halloween Spider String Lights run a 5.2 m (17 ft) purple LED garland threaded with spiders, so a single strand does the decorating that would otherwise take a box of separate props. Fifteen cool purple LEDs sit evenly along the cable with the spider detailing spaced between them, throwing a low, eerie wash rather than a bright festive glare - the difference between a porch that looks decorated and one that looks genuinely haunted. Because the strand runs on batteries there is no lead to hide, no outdoor socket to find and nothing stopping you hanging it down a stair rail, around a doorframe, along a verandah railing or across a window where no power point reaches. Care Instructions
Switch the strand off and remove the batteries before cleaning. Wipe the cable and the moulded spiders with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry them immediately - never submerge the strand, run it under a tap or use solvents or spray cleaners, which will cloud the plastic and can track water into the LED housings. Keep the battery box out of direct rain and off wet ground; tuck it behind a post or under an eave even in a sheltered spot. Take the batteries out whenever the lights will sit unused for more than a few weeks, as leaking cells are the most common way these strands die. When the season is over, coil the strand loosely around your hand or a piece of card rather than pulling it tight, and store it in a dry box away from heat so the cable does not kink or go brittle.
