The Foster Solid Brass Wall Sconce is a classic fitting made properly: a turned solid brass wall plate, a slender arm and a bell-shaped brass shade that directs light down onto whatever sits beneath it. The antique brass finish has the warm, slightly aged tone of old ship and library fittings, and it will continue to mellow with time. Mounted above open kitchen shelves, beside a mirror, over a desk or as reading lights either side of a bed, it gives a focused, warm pool of light that suits Federation homes, farmhouse kitchens, coastal cottages and modern industrial spaces alike. The shade is 12.5cm across (4.9in) and the sconce comes in two heights - 24.5cm (9.6in) and 26.5cm (10.4in) - so you can match the fitting to the space or to an existing pair. It takes an E12/E14 small screw globe up to 15W; an LED candle or mini globe keeps it cool and efficient. The light is hardwired for a clean finish, runs on 110-240V and is rated IP20 for dry indoor areas.

Care Instructions
Switch off at the wall and let the shade cool before cleaning. Solid brass with an antique finish is meant to develop character, so simply dust it with a soft, dry cloth; do not use brass polish, vinegar, lemon or abrasive pads unless you want to strip it back to bright brass, as these remove the aged finish unevenly. To lift fingerprints, use a cloth barely dampened with warm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry thoroughly - water left on brass can spot. Avoid bleach and chlorine-based cleaners entirely, which tarnish brass green. When changing the E14 globe, let it cool, hold the shade steady and use a globe of 15W or less. The fitting is rated IP20, so install it in dry areas only, away from direct shower spray and splashes.
