The Darlo Outdoor Wall Lantern takes the familiar carriage lantern and strips it back to clean geometric lines, so it reads as considered rather than nostalgic. The difference is in the glass: rather than plain clear panels, the Darlo uses high-transmission fluted glass that refracts the light into a soft shimmer across the wall, giving a front entrance far more character than a flat pool of light. At 35 cm high and 20 cm wide it has genuine architectural presence - enough to anchor a large door, a rendered pier or a stretch of perimeter wall, and it works particularly well in pairs either side of an entry. The frame is die-cast aluminium and iron in a weatherproof matte noir finish with a high-durability coating that resists UV fading and moisture, so it holds its look through Australian summers. It takes a standard E27 or E26 globe, which means you choose the brightness and colour temperature yourself and can swap it later without replacing the fitting.

Care Instructions
Switch the power off and let the globe cool completely before cleaning. Dust the matte noir frame with a soft dry cloth, then wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry it off - matte coatings mark easily, so never use abrasive pads, steel wool or solvent cleaners, which will burnish the finish to a shine in patches. The fluted glass is the feature of this lantern and needs the most attention: clean the flutes with a soft damp cloth and dry them properly, since dust and water marks sit in the grooves and dull the shimmer the glass is there to create. Clear insects out of the lantern body once or twice a year, as they collect inside glass lanterns and shadow the glow. Where the lantern is near the coast, rinse salt film off with fresh water regularly and check the bracket fixings each season for corrosion.
