The Coolum Linear Shell Chandelier takes the look of a coastal shell chandelier and stretches it into a long rectangle, which is the shape a dining table or an island actually needs. Rows of genuine capiz shell tiles hang from a slim polished metal frame in three stepped tiers, each tier slightly narrower than the one above, so the fitting cascades rather than sitting as a flat box. Capiz is naturally translucent and faintly mottled, and no two tiles match - lit, the shells glow from within and scatter soft dappled light across the ceiling and down onto the table; unlit, it reads as a pale textural object rather than a light. The small size is 80cm long (31.5in) with four E14 globes and suits a table for six or a standard island. The large is 120cm (47.2in) with six globes and holds a long table or an extended bench without looking undersized. Both hang on slim rigid rods rather than cables, so the fitting stays exactly level and square to the bench beneath it. Choose fixed warm white for a permanently golden room, or the 3-colour version to move between warm, neutral and cool white from the wall switch.
