The Pambula Iron Table Lamp is a small lamp with a big personality. Slender ribs of black wrought iron curve out from a narrow neck and back in again to form an open cage in the silhouette of a wine bottle, set on a round white base. Inside, a cluster of fine copper wire LEDs glows like a jar of fireflies, throwing a warm, softly patterned light through the bars and onto the table and walls around it. It is more mood than task light, which is why it works so well on a bedside table, at the end of a bar, beside a laptop on a study desk or as a row of glowing accents along restaurant and café tables. At 25cm tall and 16cm wide (9.8 x 6.3in) it is about the size of a bottle of wine, so it fits on narrow bedsides, shelves and entry benches without crowding them. Unplug the Pambula and let it cool before you clean it. Dust the wrought iron ribs with a soft, dry brush or a microfibre cloth, working into the curves; a slightly damp cloth will lift fingerprints, but dry the iron straight away, because bare moisture left on the joints can lead to rust spots. Avoid metal polish, solvents and abrasive scourers, which strip the black finish. Do not reach inside the cage to pull or rearrange the copper wire LEDs, as the fine wire is delicate and can break. Wipe the white base with a dry or barely damp cloth. Keep the lamp on a stable, level surface away from water, sinks and outdoor weather, and check the cord for damage from time to time.
