Kylie Solar Outdoor Wall Light is the easy way to light a fence line, side path or gate post without running a single cable. The compact black ABS body houses a bank of ten LEDs behind a clear polycarbonate lens, and the solar panel on top tilts through 90 degrees so you can angle it squarely at the sun whether it sits on a north-facing fence or a shaded courtyard wall. About five hours of good sunshine charges the 1500mAh battery, and a built-in light sensor switches it on at dusk and off at dawn for seven to nine hours of light each night. It measures 11.7cm wide, 16.9cm deep and 8cm high (4.6 x 6.7 x 3.1in) and weighs 0.46kg (1.01lb), roughly the size of a paperback, so it tucks under eaves and onto narrow posts. Care Instructions
Switch the light off at its on/off switch before cleaning. Wipe the solar panel every few weeks with a soft cloth dampened with plain water, because dust, pollen, bird droppings and salt film are the main reason a solar light runs short at night; never scrub the panel with abrasive pads or scourers, which scratch the glass coating and cut its output for good. Clean the black ABS body and the clear polycarbonate lens with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent only, as methylated spirits, acetone and other solvents cloud polycarbonate and leave ABS brittle and chalky. Keep the panel angled to the sun and trim back any foliage that starts to shade it as plants grow. Do not pressure-wash the light: IP65 is rated for rain and hose spray, not a high-pressure jet forced into the seals. If you are away for a long stretch in winter, switch it off so the battery holds its charge, and expect the built-in rechargeable battery to need replacing after several years of nightly cycles.
